In 2018, the Bulawayo High Court in Zimbabwe attended to 820 divorce cases, this represented a steep 60 percent increase from 2017.

The United Nations says, the Maldives is the country with the highest divorce rate in the world with 10.97 divorces per 1 000 inhabitants per year. This is followed by Belarus with 4.63 and the United States with 4.34.

While infidelity, money and lack of communication rank highest among the main causes of marriage breakups, according to Apostle Pride Sibiya – a leading voice in martial matters, “demons are always against marriages”.
