It was in the year 1985 when my then Provincial Overseer under the Zimbabwe Assemblies Of God Africa (ZQOGA), heard about a young man mightily used of God (Nelson Nzvimbo), who was now pastoring one of their village churches in Mrewa.

The Overseer who was also the Pioneer Evangelist of ZAOGA asked his Pastor to send me to him in the rural shopping centre of Kotwa, were he was having a tent Gospel Crusade, so I could meet him. I had also just heard about this great anointed servant of God who was mightly used of the Spirit, to bring many souls into the kingdom of God.

So I went to meet him with great expectations to see for myself the man whom everyone in our church had high regard for. And yes! when I got there there was this 500 seater tent pitched up and a small portion behind the makeshift stage in the tent put up as accommodation for the crusade team members.

Outside, a few meters from the tent entrance was a small 2 people camp tent.

That was then Evangelist Abel K. Sande's accommodation chambers for all his Gospel Crusades those days, and he slept in that tent for a full month. That's how long the crusades would go with three services a day.

Well, he was told I had arrived by his team leader and he invited me in the tent. I was ushered in and was welcomed with this short, smartly dressed man of God with a heavenly anointing you could fill all around the tent. Before any formal introductions and greetings, he just started praying.

My Goooood! Wow!! What an atmosphere I felt in that tent, I could feel that tangible presence of God and that awe that made you to feel naked before God. After prayer, he just said, Good! go and be with your fellow brothers, we will talk letter. I walked out of that tent with respect, honour and told myself I wanted what that man in the tent had. So this was going toward the evening service.

The second time I saw him was when he came into the tent for that evening service. There he was on the pulpit just after the musicians had done their singing, he was all dressed up smart in a suit and with that aura that dominated the entire tent with the presence of God. He took the microphone from the stand started singing the song Mwari Anotsvaga Vanomunamata Mumweya Nemuzvokwadi translated (God is looking for those who will worship Him in truth and in Spirit). Oooh, My!!

You could see and actually feel the tent transformed into that place of changing souls. Demons started manifesting, crying, running around, then he stopped, and with a voice full of authority like Jesus in the bible days, commanded the evil spirits to shut up in Jesus Christ's name. To my surprise, all went quietly still that you could hear your neighbor breathing.

Then right before my eyes, I saw this one man who was possessed by an evil spirit transform from being human, and began to shift to becoming looking like a lion, and roaring, lept from the congregats 4 metres away and clung his legs and arms around the servant of God, as if he was going to squeeze the life out of him. We were all mesmerized with this sudden act and just did not know what to do for like I don't know how long. The next thing that unfroze me was Apsotle Sande shouting; Come out of him in the name of Jesus Christ you evil spirit, and the man dropped from him like he was dead.

To my surprise, The Apostle of God just picked up on his song as if nothing had happened. By the time he finished singing and about to preach that man stood from were he had fallen dead and was given a place to sit all freed up from the bondage of demonic spirits. I will never forget that day, when I saw the power in the name of Jesus Christ could do when a servant of God knows his calling and the authority entrusted Him.

Since that day, I have worked under the tutorship and leadership of this great servant of God, who has brought thousands of souls into the kingdom of God. I have seen God use him in healings, deliverance and miracles. I remember the following day at that first meet with him. They brought a woman in a wheel burrow, who was so frail like the woman with the issue of blood, she could not stand on her own or even do anything by herself.

That night whilst the Apostle was preaching there is Power in the name of Jesus, that lady who was lying in the wheelbarrow all this time just leapt out and started shouting I'm healed, I'm healed, Imagine!!, she has not been prayed for yet, but in the midst of the preaching, she got healed. Now that is what I call the Gospel! Guess what, the following day she was the one playing the tambourine with our praise team, Hallelujah. And in all that, this Apostle of God never took credit of the miracles happening and acted as if nothing strange had happened, only giving glory to Jesus Christ for the happenings.

Since then, I have seen God has used the Apostle, Dr Abel Sande, to pioneer great moves of the Spirit. A Pioneer of the Pentecostal church in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. He has established the Nehemia Bible Institute. Where he has seen many man and women of God being trained and equipped for the great work of the Kingdom. He has planted many churches around Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and the United States of America. A father to thousands of gospel ministers around the globe and gives spiritual covering to hundreds including myself.

I salute and respect this servant of God. A true apostle who has raised many sons and daughters who are now influencers in society. I'm proud to have been raised by him in the Lord. At 94 years old and still preaching, I say, may your God give us some of what he gave you and may He keep you till you finish your race.
