Abel Sande was born on the 1st of May 1931 in Hurungwe a small town in Mashonaland West Province of Zimbabwe.

His early childhood life was filled with poverty and hardships which strengthened him and stamped a down to earth character upon him. Dr. Sande’s parents were Sande and Tombosi Kademaunga. Sande Kademaunga was a pioneer of Jehovah’s Witness in Zimbabwe then known as Rhodesia. DR A.K. Sande became very active in ministry in 1950 at the age of 19. For 5 years he was involved in ministerial work before getting married.

Dr. Sande got to meet the love of his life, Dr. Elizabeth, in 1955 and they got married in 1955 and the Lord blessed their marriage with seven children: two boys and five girls. Of the seven children, only three girls are still alive.

His first daughter Edna got married to a pastor who is the Principal of Ephesians Leadership Training, while the other two are in the United States of America and still single.
